About this work
This painting is rooted in Richmond Park, a place I know intimately. It explores my relationship with the landscape and the memories it holds. London felt wild when I was a child. Before the polished cafés and fenced-off gardens, the city felt raw and alive. We grew up outside, free to roam, climbing things we weren’t supposed to climb, finding tiny pieces of wilderness hidden between brick and concrete. Now I live in the country, where the wildness is more evident—in fields, storms, dark skies and quiet mornings. Every week I return to the city.
