Can I save work to come back to later?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every artwork card has a Save / Wishlist button. Sign in (or sign up) and your saves sync across devices. If an artist drops the price on a work you've wishlisted, we'll email you automatically.

Can I follow an artist to be notified of new work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On any artist profile, click Follow. You'll get a digest email when they upload a new piece, change a price, or post a studio update.

How is the work authenticated?

Every artist on Women In Art is identity-verified by a regulated KYC provider (Didit) before they can sell. Every original work ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. We retain provenance records of every sale to support resale value.

How do I buy?

Click 'Add to Cart' (or 'Buy Now') on any available work, then complete checkout. You can pay as a guest or with a Women In Art account. Most works are unique — once one collector starts checkout, the piece is reserved for 10 minutes to prevent double-sales.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards through Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), plus Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout. We do not accept bank transfer or cryptocurrency at this time.

Is my payment information secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use Stripe for all card processing — your card details never touch our servers and are tokenised by Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 infrastructure. We never store full card numbers.

Do you offer payment plans?

Many artists offer interest-free payment plans on works above a certain price point. Look for the 'Payment Plan' badge on the artwork page. Standard plans are 50% deposit + balance before despatch, or 3–6 equal monthly instalments. The work ships once the balance clears.

What currency are prices in?

Prices are shown in GBP by default. Use the language/region picker (top-right) to view in USD or EUR. Your card is charged in GBP — your bank handles the conversion at their day-rate.

Do you charge VAT or sales tax?

Accepted Answer

VAT is included on works delivered within the UK where the artist is VAT-registered. Below the UK VAT threshold, no VAT is charged. Outside the UK, the buyer is responsible for any local import duty or tax — your shipping confirmation will note this.

Question 11

Who ships the work — the artist or Women In Art?

Accepted Answer

Artists ship the work directly to you. They handle packing, choose the carrier, buy the insurance, and provide the tracking number. Women In Art never takes physical possession of any artwork — we hold your payment in escrow until you confirm delivery, but the parcel itself is always shipped artist-to-collector. This is faster, safer, and means the artist (who knows the piece best) controls how it's protected in transit.

How long does shipping take?

Most UK orders ship within 5–7 working days of payment and arrive 1–3 working days later. International orders ship within 5–10 working days and arrive 1–3 weeks later depending on destination and customs. The artist will update the order with a tracking number when the work despatches — you'll get an email.
