Baltimore on Film: “Flashback” at the BMA

The BMA’s "Flashback: Baltimore on Film" exhibition masterfully challenges pervasive, often reductive, media stereotypes of Baltimore. For emerging women artists, this serves as a powerful reminder of art's capacity to reclaim and redefine narratives. It underscores the critical role artists play in shaping authentic representation, moving beyond simplistic, stock imagery to offer nuanced perspectives. Consider how your unique vision can subvert dominant perceptions of places or subjects. Your art has the transformative power to tell truer, more complex stories, urging viewers to look beyond the surface. — Source: BmoreArt
