Statement
The In Between In my work, I deal with the female role in society. I investigate the effect on one's own action on the basis of one's own role behavior in the interplay with the patterns given and expected from the outside. The external demarcation in unwanted patterns of behavior was already shaped in childhood: through the family role models, the personal non-compliance with orders, the enforcement of one's own will or through the specially experienced social exclusion, the interpersonal and empathetic elaboration of something in between is an important element for me. The mode of action of given patterns on one's own role in the system and the personal approximation of these role models ultimately find their reference in the compositions of the works. This interplay is at the same time noticeable by the permeability of the image carriers. There is a mediation of this side and coexistence of the different nuances. Compacting materials such as charcoal, coarsely cut paper scraps, quickly thrown in paint residues or morbid flower drawings in combination with carefully placed color surfaces, perforations and coarsely sewn collage condition each other and support each other. All possibilities are always available at the same time. The two sides of the image carrier each embody a perception and show themselves to the viewer through the possibility of passing around the work. In this case, the recipient takes the entirety of the front and back in their differences. Transparent against pasty surfaces, color stries and threads running into the void or perforations and cuts in the fragile surface give rise to a feeling of the coexisting fragility.
