About

Kae is a fine art photographer who's work examines the lived experiences of AuDHD through the use of different photographic techniques.

Statement

At its heart, my drive to make art is about communication. I've found that in being open and sharing my own experiences, I've been able to help break down the stigmas and stereotypes that are often associated with neurodivergence. As such, my work as a photographer and curator are deeply influenced by my personal experiences with ADHD and Autism (AuDHD). I strive to create pieces that any audience member can find enjoyment in, regardless of background or education level. I use the beauty of the natural world to provide a fresh perspective on the relationship between the human mind and the ways in which we interact with one another. Each photograph is created with the intention to bring beauty, tranquility, and curiosity to the viewer while offering an opportunity to delve into the complexity that naturally occurs within our constructed social dynamics. Through my art, I create a space where neurodivergent individuals can feel seen and understood, often giving them the language and perspective they can apply to their own experiences for future self-advocacy. It's in these moments that I feel my work is complete. Not when the print is created, or when it finally finds a place on the wall, but when it prompts a conversation between viewers that leads to deeper awareness, empathy, and understanding towards those around us.
