Statement

My artistic practice explores femininity, beauty, light and the quiet emotional moments that exist between reality and memory. Working primarily with oil on canvas, I create figurative paintings centred around the female figure, often placed in interiors, by the sea or immersed in natural light. I am interested in capturing an atmosphere rather than simply describing a scene. A gesture, a reflection on water, sunlight entering through a window or a moment of stillness can become the starting point for a painting. These elements allow me to explore the relationship between the figure and the space surrounding her. Oil painting is essential to my process. I build each work directly on canvas, layer by layer, using expressive brushwork and palette knife techniques to create texture, movement and depth. I am drawn to the physical presence of paint and the way colour and light can evoke emotion. My work celebrates the strength, beauty and complexity of women while inviting the viewer into intimate, atmospheric spaces. Through my paintings, I hope to create a moment of pause — a space for emotion, imagination and personal interpretation.
