About this work

Original 3D mixed media collage artwork created from vintage botanical and floral imagery sourced from the pages of antique garden books and archival horticultural publications. Each floral fragment is carefully selected for its colour, texture and form, then hand-bonded onto wood and laser cut into individual circular elements. These fragments are transformed into a mathematically precise geometric composition, bringing hundreds of separate details into a calm, ordered field of colour. The work explores the act of finding peace through structure: creating balance from visual abundance, rhythm from fragmentation, and harmony from chaos. Like a cultivated garden, the composition suggests a quiet process of arranging, tending and making sense of the natural world. Mounted on white gesso board, the piece balances delicate organic imagery with repetition, order and rhythm. About the artist

Amelia Coward is a British mixed media artist whose practice unites colour, geometry and material craft through hand-painted wood and vintage maps. Trained at St Martins and the RCA, her work explores colour interaction, place and memory, and is held in private and corporate collections internationally.
