About this work
I love to sit and watch the ebbing and gentle flow around the lily pads in a pond near me. Often unnoticeable to many walkers by I literally found these lilies through the back of some rhododendrons hiding in a sunny spot out of general view. I go there with my crayons and hide myself away. I wonder at the beauty of the flowers and the waxy leaves of the pads. It gives me a feeling of a gentle waltz, to be held slowly and tenderly. Such a feeling of optimism, beauty and hope. I felt like I was writing a love letter when I painted these. I didn't want it to end. If this resonates with you please also see Fleeting.
