About this work
Deep Burgundy is part of my Whispers series, which looks at what remains after periods of significant change, once things begin to settle. The deep burgundy tones give this work a stronger, more concentrated presence, while the softer layers and exposed raw canvas keep a sense of openness. For me, it reflects how some emotions stay with us more intensely than others, even after the moment that created them has passed.
