About this work
The relationship between me and my twin brother is one I dwell on often, and it is why I find myself using us as inspiration. This is the main sculpture of a series, it manifests my twin brother at an age before we grew apart. This version of him I can only ever see in old photographs and videos, this pure and innocent depiction of him manifests how I perceive this version of my brother now I am older. The longing looks in his eyes shows how he knows what will fall upon him in the future, and how our relationship will never be the same. The next study of the series, is only small maquette made from fired clay, demonstrating this transient period as we grew older and apart from one-another. The original piece was cast in Carrera marble, an ode to timeless classical sculpture. However the sculpture is available in a bronze finish as well.
About the artist
I am a young artist based between Manchester, London and Somerset. I work in a plethora of mediums but in recent years I have been sculpting in clay. I cast my sculptures in a variety of mediums, from bronze, to Carrera marble resin. I work predominantly figuratively, and aim to encourage thought and discussion through my pieces, where one is able to see themselves through my work, as well as myself I have created through its message.
