About this work
I first came across the poem the woman the dog and the Walnut tree via my brother and was quite shocked by it’s meaning. I painted this in response which stresses the resilience of both dogs and women. Women always have little girls within them even when they grow old that innocence and resistance to pressure. This is the atmosphere I was trying to create one of quiet triumph that nobody can quash.
