About

London-based artist Lina Moundy-Holley creates textured mixed-media paintings that explore emotion, memory and the quiet tension between comfort, belonging and confinement.

Statement

My work explores what it means to be human in a world that often asks us to fit into roles, expectations and social structures before we are fully accepted for who we are. I am interested in belonging, self-worth, women’s rights, mental health and the unspoken fears people carry while trying to find their place in society. Through textured surfaces, resin and found objects, I create paintings that hold both tenderness and tension. Objects such as tennis balls, miniature cars and piano keys become symbols of memory, identity, pressure, control and emotional resilience. They allow me to speak about feelings that are not always easy to express directly: exclusion, love, vulnerability, comparison, confinement, freedom and the desire to be deeply understood. At the centre of my practice is a search for acceptance: of the self, of others and of the emotions we are often taught to hide. My work asks what it feels like to have a pure heart in a complicated world, to love deeply, to protect one’s softness and to still believe in connection. I want each piece to become a space where viewers can recognise parts of themselves and feel less alone.
