The Art of Presence In The Art of Presence, as a contemporary artist from Germany, Brigitte Puschmann explores how presence emerges and shifts from one moment to the next. Through abstract paintings, serial and modular systems of colour, line and rhythm, she creates works whose perception changes with perspective and light—revealing the complexity and multiplicity beyond black and white.

Statement

My work explores the hidden structures that emerge within the complexity and constant transformation of life. Rather than illustrating fixed narratives, I create moments of presence in which colour, line, and form unfold physically and atmospherically, revealing a delicate balance between order and chaos, stability and movement. Geometric forms, straight lines, and nuanced colour relationships become fields of perception that invite an immediate, embodied experience—one that can be sensed more readily than explained. Interconnectedness, transformation, spatial tension, and timelessness form the conceptual foundation of my practice, while each composition becomes a quiet reflection on the relationship between inner and outer worlds and on the nature of presence itself.
