Julia Hariri is a German Iranian artist based in Berlin. With a background in fashion design, she worked for several years at a renowned fashion brand before fully dedicating herself to her own artistic practice. Today, she expresses her unique vision through both painting and ceramics. Hariri’s works are defined by vibrant color palettes, organic forms, and thoughtfully composed structures. Deeply inspired by nature, she works with flowing, intuitive shapes that contrast with the structured and often challenging realities of everyday life. While her visual language remains soft and organic, her compositions are marked by clarity, clean lines, and recurring pattern like arrangements that create a sense of balance and harmony. Her inspiration draws from nature, the human body, and the dynamics of contemporary society. From early studies in life drawing to her professional experience designing garments around the female silhouette, the human body, particularly the feminine form, has been a constant point of reference in her work. Over time, her practice has evolved to incorporate a distinctly feminist perspective, informed by an awareness of social inequalities and a commitment to gender justice. Above all, Hariri’s works aim to evoke a feeling of freedom and lightness.
