The Awakening, 23x36inches

About this work

The Awakening is one of the most personal works in my collection. Created during a period of profound change, it marks a moment of returning to myself and seeing life with fresh eyes. The figure emerges from the soft embrace of the tamarisk tree, a coastal plant celebrated for its resilience and long associated with renewal, growth and rebirth. Part hidden and part revealed, she exists in the space between rest and emergence, carrying the quiet promise of transformation. For me, this work speaks of awakening from the habits and expectations that can keep us disconnected from ourselves, and finding the courage to live more authentically. While rooted in my own experience, it reflects a universal journey of renewal, self-discovery and coming home to who we truly are.
