About this work
She imagines entering the river. Her dreams float across its surface; brightly coloured, dressed in feathers, fully armoured. Like the first droplets of sun on water as morning reaches the world, her wishes are lights and signals, illuminated from within. If they find and follow the river’s flow they will leave her body and undulate toward an unknown horizon, threading together moments with meaning as they learn to become beacons, fizzing sparks in the dark. A canvas now a lighthouse. A painting a life-raft. And they will return to her, eventually, one day. On a tide full of treasure. (from my book Letters to the Muse) Made using acrylic paint, collage, Oil paint and Oil stick on circular wood panel, with collaged canvas along the edges.
