Min Ray is an Australian contemporary abstract artist exploring organic form, colour and human connection. Her recent paintings move between abstract botanicals, balanced organic forms and quiet architectural spaces, creating works that bring warmth, calm and gentle movement to contemporary interiors.

Statement

My work explores the quiet relationships between colour, form and space. I’m drawn to organic shapes, subtle interactions and the way simple forms can suggest connection, balance, movement and emotion. Working intuitively with layers of colour and expressive brushwork, I look for a balance between structure and spontaneity. Rather than describing something literally, I allow shapes and colours to develop their own relationships across the canvas. There is often a sense of stillness in my work, but also an underlying energy. I want the paintings to feel calm and considered from a distance, while revealing texture, movement and small moments of tension or connection when viewed more closely.
