Statement

My name is Nancy Blom, and I am a Dutch contemporary artist whose work is deeply rooted in personal experience, inner growth, and emotional reflection. My artistic journey has been shaped not only by the many places I have traveled, but also by the inner landscapes I have explored throughout my life. Each experience, encounter, challenge, and life lesson leaves an imprint on the way I create. My work emerges from a deeply personal space — a place where memory, emotion, intuition, and self-discovery come together. Travel has been an important source of inspiration in my life, opening my eyes to different cultures, atmospheres, colors, and rhythms. But beyond the outer world, it is especially the inner resonance of these experiences that influences my art. What stays with me are not only the images of places, but the feelings they awaken, the reflections they bring, and the emotional traces they leave behind. With a background in business and interior styling, I naturally carry a sense of structure, composition, and aesthetic sensitivity into my work. At the same time, my creative process is guided by intuition and emotion. I am interested in the balance between outer form and inner meaning — between what is visible and what is felt. Alongside my artistic practice, I am also studying art therapy. This deepens my understanding of the connection between creativity, emotion, and healing, and further strengthens the personal foundation of my work. Art, for me, is more than visual expression; it is a way to process, to reflect, and to transform lived experience into something tangible and meaningful. My ambition is to create art that speaks not only to the eye, but also to the soul — works that carry a quiet emotional depth, invite connection, and offer space for reflection, recognition, and imagination.
