About this work
A gathered pose draws the eye towards a quieter part of a woman’s journey: taking stock, holding memories close and allowing time for rest. Gold leaf moves across the figure and surrounding space, offering a kintsugi-inspired reflection on scars and continuity. Held Within honours the strength of inward growth and a developing tenderness towards the body. Part of Her Light, the Abreast trilogy with Unseen and Shining Through. Original oil and gold leaf on deep-edge canvas, 2026. Framed. Canvas dimensions: 35.56 × 45.72 cm; frame adds to the overall size. This is a unique original painting.
