About

Suzanne Dolan is an Irish ceramic artist whose practice incorporates printmaking, collage and intricate figurative storytelling. Through richly decorated, hand-built vessels, she uses satire, dark humour and what she describes as “weaponised frivolity” to explore gender, power and the absurdities of contemporary life.

Statement

My practice centres on hand-built ceramic vessels that incorporate printmaking, collage and intricate figurative narratives. Through humour, satire and richly decorative surfaces, I explore contemporary social behaviours, gender dynamics and the often absurd structures of power that shape everyday life. Each vessel is a unique, meticulously constructed artwork, inviting close observation and revealing layers of meaning beyond its playful exterior. My work embraces the tension between beauty and discomfort, using the traditionally decorative language of ceramics to tell distinctly contemporary stories.
