About this work
The Art of Letting Go began without a plan. I allowed myself to work intuitively, responding to the paint rather than trying to control where the painting was going. Layers of colour, washes and expressive marks developed gradually across the surface, with areas softened and reworked as the painting evolved. That process became part of the meaning of the work — learning when to intervene and, perhaps more importantly, when to stop. For me, the painting is about release: letting go of expectation, trusting instinct and allowing something unexpected to emerge.
