About this work
The blue and ochre in this work remind me of Lisbon: tiled surfaces, sun-warmed façades and the changing light on the river. I brought these colours together through painted fragments, placing angular shapes beside fluid washes and vivid pools of blue. Collage lets me explore the relationship between structure and movement. Cut edges establish a rhythm, while flowing marks suggest forms still changing. “Between Stone and Water” holds these two qualities together. For me, it is also about finding connections between separate elements, allowing their differences to become part of a shared whole.
