To Live Inside Color

About this work

With this painting, I wanted color to feel like a space you could step into. I was interested in how it can fill our attention, stir a memory, or give shape to a feeling we haven’t yet found words for. Working with acrylic and oil pastel, I built overlapping layers of coral, pink, ochre, blue, and olive green. Broad brushstrokes meet loose drawn lines, and darker passages give the movement weight. Organic forms emerge, disappear, and connect across the surface. Some areas invite a closer look; others carry the eye further through the painting. The title captures that sense of immersion: being surrounded by color and letting it affect you.
