About this work

At first, the pinks draw the eye. Look longer and cooler colours come through: lavender, pale green and deep teal. Fine oil pastel lines wind across the translucent acrylic washes then gather into a tangle of marks near the lower edge. Held Without Resolving takes its title from the feeling of carrying tenderness and unease at the same time. The signed original ships rolled from Lisbon with a certificate of authenticity.

About the artist

Anna Rolskaya is a Lisbon-based abstract painter who works in acrylic, oil stick, and mixed media. Classically trained and color-sensitive from her watercolor experience, her work draws on floral forms and features translucent, layered washes. Her paintings have been exhibited at The Other Art Fair London and Lisbon Art Fair, and are held in private collections in Europe, the UK, the US, and Australia.
